The Carer Allies Story

Carer Allies™ was founded on a simple but powerful truth:
Unpaid carers are everywhere yet often invisible.
They’re parents, partners, children, neighbours, and friends who step in to provide vital support for someone living with disability, chronic illness, mental health challenges, or frailty. Too often, these carers are balancing work, community commitments, and family life while quietly carrying the weight of another person’s wellbeing. They face burnout, isolation, and a lack of understanding from workplaces and communities that simply don’t “see” their role. Carer Allies was created to change that.
Our training empowers everyday people in workplaces, sports clubs, schools, and community groups to recognise, support, and stand alongside unpaid carers.

Why We’re Different

We focus on people, not just policies.
Instead of ticking compliance boxes, our half-day Carer Ally training equips individuals with practical skills, real conversations, and empathy-driven action they can apply immediately whether they’re a manager, a colleague, a teammate, or a friend.

We don’t just certify businesses. We mobilise individuals across every part of the community, so carers can be supported wherever life takes them not just at work.

Our Social Enterprise Mission + Impact Goals

Carer Allies is a social enterprise, which means every training place and piece of merch sold helps fund programs for carers who need it most.
Our impact goals for the next three years are bold:

  • Train 250 certified Carer Allies across Australia by 2028.
  • Reach 50,000 carers through increased awareness and direct support from trained allies.
  • Fund at least $50,000 worth of free training for grassroots community groups that support carers but can’t afford paid programs.

Every ticket purchased, every hoodie worn, every conversation started it all contributes to creating a carer-friendly culture in every corner of society.
